Kyle Richards’ friendship with Dorit Kemsley isn’t in the best place following the RHOBH season 13 reunion. Get all the tea!
The RHOBH OG reveals that she hasn’t spoken to Dorit Kemsley since filming the season 13 reunion in January. She also denies sending Dorit a “manipulative” text before the reunion taping.
“We haven’t spoken at all, but I’ve always supported Dorit since she joined the show — whether it was about people saying she was phony because of her accent — I defended her with that,” she shared on a recent Amazon Live.
“Saying when you live with somebody who has an accent, you can pick up on the accent. I’m like that, too. With the dog, with Lisa Rinna in Hong Kong, with [Lisa] Vanderpump, I always stood up for her.”
The 55-year-old admits she was “very hurt” by what happened at the RHOBH season 13 reunion – especially when Dorit revealed her text message and claimed she was trying to manipulate her into keeping quiet.
“The text being read was very hurtful to me. She said that I was manipulative, and it was actually the complete opposite,” she said.
“I was being very forthright and saying, ‘I have a lot at stake here right now, and this is hard for me. I have a lot on my plate; I know what’s coming at me. You and I … these are stupid arguments.’”
During the three-part RHOBH reunion special, which aired in March, Dorit told co-star Erika Jayne that Kyle texted her the day before to coax her into keeping quiet about specific topics.
“She sends me a text yesterday basically trying to silence me,” Dorit told Erika. “It was so manipulative. It was so calculated.”
According to screenshots of the text messages, Kyle admitted to Dorit that some of her interview comments “hurt [her] feelings.”
“I heard some of the things you said about me off camera that hurt me deeply, and I wasn’t even able to say what I heard or who from,” Kyle wrote. “I don’t want to lose someone else in my life over a TV show.”
Kyle insists that RHOBH producers didn’t “know” she and Dorit were “even going through a hard time,” which is why she didn’t “see the need to bring it up” at the reunion, “especially when we have enough battles to handle as it is.”
In February, Kyle said it would “take a minute” for her to forgive Dorit for exposing the text message at the reunion.
“I did not know at that time that she read my text message, and that was private, and I was really shocked by that,” she said on Amazon Live. “She’s someone who I care about and her family. It’s going to take me a minute [to forgive her].”
Although Kyle said Dorit is her “friend,” she added, “You don’t do that to your close friend. You just don’t.”
Filming for season 14 of RHOBH is set to commence in late April.
