According to Stallone, such conditions reduce the event to a mere “sparring session, it’s a joke.” He further emphasized the essence of a sanctioned fight, insisting on “10 ounce gloves and all the things that go, no headgear, three-minute rounds.” In his view, these elements elevate a match from an exhibition to a serious contest.
Stallone didn’t mince words about Jake Paul’s boxing credentials, labeling him “basically a ranked amateur.” He referenced Paul’s bout against Tommy Fury, where Paul faced his first professional boxing defeat. “He fought one fighter, Tommy Fury, and he got beat by a guy that’s an in-and-out of boxing, not a great boxer,” Stallone pointed out, underscoring Paul’s lack of experience against seasoned fighters.
