Bachelor Nation fans saw Joey Graziadei and Kelsey Anderson find love and get engaged on Season 28 of “The Bachelor.”
Now, the newly engaged couple is stopping by for an honest conversation with BachelorNation.com about everything from couples therapy to wedding planning to Kelsey’s dad possibly going on “The Golden Bachelorette.”
When discussing couples counseling, Kelsey and Joey raved about the therapy they received from the show after getting engaged.
Kelsey said, “Our therapist really helped us see each other’s perspectives on a lot of things. There could’ve been an argument that we had and we were already over it and completely good, but it was kind of fun to go back and break it down and see if we could have communicated better and had better open communication to resolve it in a healthier way.”
Joey chimed in, adding, “It’s been learning different communication styles and stepping out of our comfort zones of our own perspective and putting ourselves in the other person’s shoes. We have just learned more about each other in a healthy setting which was really a special part of it for us.”
The two discussed how important it is to them to go to therapy when things are good, not just when times are tough.
Joey shared, “Some advice that we got from other successful couples and people that we know is that the best time to do therapy is when things are good. We were so happy to start and build a healthy foundation. We loved it so much that we’re going to continue to go to therapy in the future and continue to learn more about each other in a really healthy place. It’s sometimes about just celebrating our victories.”
Kelsey continued on, saying, “There were some weeks when we would go into counseling and she would ask us what we wanted to talk about and we didn’t know because we had a great week. But she was really good about helping us talk about things that we didn’t think about. It definitely has helped build our relationship so much and helped us appreciate each other.”
The two also talked about the possibility of Kelsey’s dad Mark going on “The Golden Bachelorette” and shared some advice for him.
Kelsey said, “I told him just to be open to it. My dad is awesome, he has a great personality and is very kind, so he should just be himself and be open to the process.”
Joey agreed, saying, “I would also just tell Mark to be himself. I don’t think people understand his presence in person is indescribable. He is a very special person who I felt it with that day when I met him in New Orleans. If he does choose to do it, I know he’ll do a great job.”
And when asked who Kelsey thinks might be a good fit for her dad from “The Golden Bachelor” cast, she had a few women in mind.
She said, “There are a lot of awesome women from ‘The Golden Bachelor,’ all of those women were amazing and had such amazing stories. I think Joan and Leslie both seem like amazing women and could be good matches. It’s so hard to pick, they’re all great.”
