Hear from both Candiace Dillard Bassett and her husband, Chris Bassett, in a new preview of Part 2 of the RHOP Season 8 reunion.
Fans of The Real Housewives of Potomac were introduced to Candiace Dillard Bassett’s then-fiancé Chris Bassett during Season 3, and over the years, viewers have watched him become her husband, flourish in his career as a restaurant co-owner, cooking class teacher, and personal chef, and so much more.
However, as Andy Cohen points out in a new preview for Part 2 of the RHOP Season 8 reunion (which you can check out above), Chris wasn’t around as much on the latest iteration of the show.
Why was Chris Bassett missing for most of RHOP Season 8?
Asked by Andy if his absence from RHOP Season 8 was “by design,” Chris said, “Yeah. Yeah it was … If I’m not wanted around, I don’t need to be around. It’s okay.”
Chris clarified that he wasn’t talking about being “wanted around” by Candiace, and she herself added, “I want him around. But when you have a group of women who do everything in their power to push him out with lies, then why would he be comfortable coming around? [That’s] what he’s saying.”
Where Chris Bassett Stands with Robyn Dixon Today
In the preview, Andy goes on to ask Chris another question — and this time, it involves Robyn Dixon. More specifically, he says, “Are you still of the mind that Robyn was in on a plot against you last year and was fake supportive just to cover up her own thing?”
“Honestly, after last year’s reunion, I’m tired of talking about it,” Chris replies. “I haven’t mentioned it since that reunion — I’m sorry, the three subsequent interviews that aired after the reunion. I haven’t talked about it, I haven’t tweeted about anything, I just really don’t give a f-ck. I’m good. I’m really good.
