They stopped by for an exclusive chat with BachelorNation.com where they shared some advice for the Golden Bachelorette, which will be filming later this year.
The newlyweds also discussed their plans for the future and how it’s been blending their families.
Check out our full conversation below!
Bachelor Nation: So good to see you Gerry and Theresa! Thank you for chatting with us. Now that Season 1 of “The Golden Bachelorette” has been confirmed, what advice do you have for whoever it is?
Theresa Nist: I am so excited to find out who it is. But some simple advice is to keep your heart open and live in the moment! Really listen to your gut.
Gerry Turner: Oh yes, I also have some advice. My advice is to slow yourself down and don’t be in any hurry. You have to be a bit analytical, but follow your heart. Seriously, slow down. You have all the time in the world to make hard decisions, so take all the time you can. I journaled a lot and I wish I would’ve gone back to my journal 48 hours later while still in the process. I wish I would’ve read what I was thinking. Now, I read it and I didn’t remember thinking or feeling certain things, so it would have been a great help to do some reflection in the moment and go back to it every few days.
TN: We are SO excited to watch! We want to come on as a guest!
GT: We are totally invested in whoever it is’ journey. We want to be there for her!
BN: Love that! What does the future look like for you two now that you’re married?
GT: We talk about it nonstop and we have all the options for where we are going to move out on the table. We still haven’t decided. We have learned that we are so much alike and we are so excited about the future. For now, we are excited that you may see us on your screens again soon! Just a teaser. And we have some fun trips laid out. We are going with my pickleball friends to Orange Beach in Alabama.
TN: Yes! And we are going back and forth visiting his home and family in June and my son in South Carolina too where we’ll be looking at potential homes to live in together.
BN: How exciting! Is finding love in your golden years what you expected it to be?
GT: Yes, it’s kind of what we expected, it’s just different from finding love 20 years ago or 50 years ago. Our priorities are altogether different, but it’s been wonderful.
TN: We are in a different stage of our lives, so our priorities are different from what they have been in the past, we are no longer looking to start a family. We have just found that we want to enjoy the rest of our lives together.
BN: That’s really sweet. And what about blending your two families, how has that been?
GT: Oh, it’s been the easiest part. They all get along really well. We find their senses of humor to be really compatible. That has been the easiest part of all!
TN: Absolutely. His daughters are wonderful, my daughter and son are also wonderful and they all get along so well.
BN: So glad to hear that! Thank you for stopping by and chatting with us, we’ll catch up with you two again soon!
