The Summer House cast member admitted there’s a chance she and her Southern Charm beau won’t last.
Paige DeSorbo knows honesty is key to a healthy relationship — even when the truth is uncomfortable or inconvenient.
The Summer House cast member explained her position during a recent sitdown with E! News, where she and Southern Charm’s Craig Conover shed more light on their long-distance romance. Paige was specifically asked about Craig’s comments in the March 21 episode of Summer House, in which he admitted that his relationship with Paige may not last.
Paige DeSorbo weighs in on a possible split with Craig Conover
“Honestly, I wasn’t upset about it at all because I think everything he said I agreed with,” Paige told the outlet. “Yes, in statistics people could potentially break up. We have a higher rate because we do do long-distance, but I think if we weren’t acknowledging that we would be really naive.”
She continued: “I think Craig and I do a good job of talking about all the things that maybe are taboo or scary to talk about before big life events. So, I was thankful that he said that because I feel the same way. I know he felt that way and so it, honestly, put me at ease.”
Craig Conover gets real about his relationship with Paige DeSorbo
During a weekend visit to the Hamptons house, Craig opened up about the uncertainties looming over his relationship with Paige. He told Summer House’s Kyle Cook that he wanted to take the romance to the next level, but knew his NYC-based girlfriend wasn’t in a rush.
“I love Paige, but I’m almost becoming the best version of myself, and so if we work out, we work out, but if we don’t, it’s not the end of the world,” he said in Summer House Season 11, Episode 5. “In my perfect world, there would be a little more security to being, like, one day we’re gonna get married and then have kids. She has told me that’s what we’re going to do, and so I have to tailor my insecurities and impatience and either believe her or not.”
Does Craig Conover think things will “work out” with Paige DeSorbo?
Craig defended his comments during the E! News interview, saying many long-distance couples could relate to his concerns.
“I think it’s just not being delusional, you know?” he said. “Just because we’re on TV doesn’t mean that we’re not going to deal with the exact same things that everyone else out there does.”
“Like closet space,” Paige joked.
Although there’s a chance the two may split someday, Craig insisted he was happy with Paige and was confident they would “work out”; however, he acknowledged that all couples have their issues, and he had no intention of hiding theirs.
“If we were to sit there and act like everything just works out every single time, I just think that would be dishonest,” Craig continued. “So, obviously, we want it to work out. It’s gonna work out… If you try to put on this grand illusion that every single thing is figured out, that’s when there’s trouble. But for us, we’re like, ‘Hey, we’ haven’t figured out everything yet but we love each other and we’re happier together than we are apart.’ And we’re gonna take every challenge as it comes instead of letting the fear of the future ruin the happiness of today.”
