Farrah Aldjufrie sparked rumors of a split from Alex Manos last summer and finally confirmed the breakup news during an interview last week, ahead of the release of Buying Beverly Hills season two.
As she confirmed that viewers of the Netflix series will see more about their split on the show, and noted that the breakup was “really hard” to go through, an insider shared the reason behind Farrah’s decision to call it quits and revealed if there is hope for the couple to get back together.
“Farrah and Alex called off their engagement last fall,” a source told Us Weekly, signaling to a September 2023 split between Farrah, 35, and Alex. “Farrah ended the relationship. She felt she had been waiting on the engagement for a while and once it happened, the dynamic of their relationship had changed and they were not in a good place.”
“Farrah felt Alex was not as eager or excited about wedding planning and the feelings weren’t reciprocated, and she was at a standstill,” the source continued.
Even Farrah’s friends weren’t on board with the partnering.
“[They] didn’t think he was The One for her,” the insider noted.
That said, Farrah’s mom, Kyle Richards, 55, and step-dad, Mauricio Umansky, 53, “loved Alex and treated him as their own, but supported Farrah in her decision.”
As for the future, the source went on to say that while Alex “would love to reconcile with Farrah,” Farrah has “moved on” from their relationship.
According to the report, Farrah, whom Kyle shared with her ex-husband, Guraish Aldjufrie, began dating Alex in 2018 and got engaged three years later. Then, in November 2022, Farrah confirmed that although she found a dress, she and Alex did not yet have a date picked out for their wedding.
“To be honest, I really just wanted to enjoy the engagement for a minute. And I know people dive right into that — that’s not my personality or my partners,” she said at the time. “So now we feel like we’ve enjoyed it, and we’re ready, but of course, it’s a question that I get multiple times a day.”
Several months later, in August 2023, Farrah sparked rumors of a split as she was spotted without her engagement ring during a family vacation in Italy.
Last week, while promoting the new season of Buying Beverly Hills, Farrah admitted it was difficult to go through her split from Alex just as Kyle and Mauricio separated.
“[It’s] a very sensitive subject to be playing out on TV, but it is what it is,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “It was really hard. The whole season, I was dealing with a lot, obviously, trying to focus on my career, having so much going on in the family, in my own personal relationship. I guess it was a slow sort of unraveling of two people that love each other very, very much, but actually weren’t seeing eye to eye on a few things. And we decided to go our separate ways, unfortunately, but no bad blood there.”
