The word on the street is Candiace Dillard Bassett still has issues with Robyn Dixon and Gizelle Bryant from The Real Housewives of Potomac. The “Drive Back” singer has been in a back-and-forth war with the two Green Eyed Bandits since Season 7 when Gizelle accused Chris Bassett of shutting her in a hotel room.
However, their conversations about Chris and Candiace didn’t stop there. In October 2023, Robyn and Gizzy hopped on their podcast to speak about the rumors that a thirsty fan was having an affair with Chris. “Be careful how you respond or react to other people’s drama because your ass may be caught up in some similar sh*t,” Robyn said, clearly throwing shade at Candy pants for her comments about her relationship with Juan Dixon.
Was she trying to get back at Candiace? Nobody knows, but Candiace spoke to Us Weekly about her relationship with Robyn, and it doesn’t look like there’ll be peace any time soon. “It was gut-wrenching,” she said, referring to Robyn’s statements. “It was like stabbing me in my front, and it almost felt a little bit — it felt intentional.”
Candiace slams Robyn’s “clown behavior”
During the latest episode of RHOP, Robyn and Candiace had a sit-down. They discussed what led to the dissolution of their friendship. It could’ve been Candiace’s incessant social media posts about Robyn or something else. Regardless, they left in a worse place than they came.
“You’re so angry with me for tweeting my feelings about your clown behavior, if you ask me. And everyone else has also had opinions, your best friend has shaded you in confessionals and had things to say about your husband that are unsavory and mean-spirited,” Candiace said, referring to Gizzy. “But me speaking on your clown behavior is somehow unforgivable. It feels like a concerted effort to try and push me somewhere into a corner.”
Later, Candiace apologized for how she hurt Robyn. She eventually said, “I can’t accept that what I’ve done is unforgivable when we as an audience have watched truly unforgivable things happen and you have gotten over them.”
As for Gizelle, Candiace is open to a future with her, but it starts with the mother of three taking accountability for her actions.
“It’s actually very weird the way that [Gizelle] has chosen to take up arms on this when all you have to do is apologize and stop adding fuel to a very dangerous fire,” Candiace said. “You cannot accuse my husband of forcing you into a hotel room. That is a categorical lie. And you’re adding to the list of reasons why I would never want to be friends with you. So, stop lying, and we can talk about a friendship. But until then, I don’t see it for her.”
