The Browns started five quarterbacks in 2023 and have four signed to the roster right now. With the latest news, it looks like they could be interested in another.
If physical tools alone made you a great quarterback, Joe Milton out of Tennessee would be going early on the first round. Cleveland is set to meet with the former Vols’ QB next week.
Milton mentioned to us on the telecast following Pro Day today that he’s scheduled to meet with the #Browns early next week. https://t.co/ruz6zJAT1C

It seems every year that the Browns are interested in a Tennessee player to some extent. Last year they pulled the trigger on drafting WR Cedric Tillman in the third round, which was their first pick. Perhaps Milton could be that guy this year.
Milton has a huge arm and is a very good athlete. The problem in his game is the mental side and the inability to make high-level throws consistently. From folks I’ve talked to, Milton could go anywhere from the fifth round to being an undrafted free agent in April’s draft.
As a sixth-year senior for the Vols, Milton had 2,813 passing yards and 20 touchdowns to five interceptions. He completed 64.7 percent of his passes and added 299 rushing yards and seven more touchdowns.
Perhaps the Browns see something there and would take a late flyer on him. It must be noted that the team is only scheduled to have five picks after trading two for WR Jerry Jeudy.
Last draft, the Browns took Dorian Thompson-Robinson out of UCLA. Could they take a quarterback for a second straight season late? Do they see a future position change in Milton? Or, is Cleveland just doing their due diligence? We’ll see.
