Shannon Beador scored a victory in court regarding Jim Bellino‘s lawsuit against her, but he does not want to pay her legal fees.
The former Real Housewives of Orange County star had previously sued Shannon for defamation, asking for $1 million in damages.
Shannon was however dismissed from the lawsuit in January after she successfully defended herself. A month later, Shannon filed documents in court, seeking for Jim to pay the $220,894.55 that she had spent defending herself in court.
Jim is now objecting to the amount, claiming that the $220,000 is way too excessive for legal bills, and that it’s unreasonable for him to cover those fees, according to The Blast. Instead, Jim is fighting back, saying he shouldn’t have to pay anything. In a second option, he’s asking that the bill is cut down to $44,000. His argument is that her lawyer hasn’t provided enough details to justify the amount.
Shannon is off the hook in the defamation case after arguing that Jim failed to establish proper evidence against her. Jim sued both Shannon and Tamra Judge, but the judge didn’t clear Tamra.
Her case continues and she might be on the hook for $1 million if he wins. It was last year that Jim sued both of the ladies for defamation after he heard they were raising suspicions about his divorce from Alexis Bellino. He fought back, saying he wasn’t divorcing because of any legal woes and that his trampoline business hadn’t paralyzed anyone.
In March of this year, Jim claimed that Tamra was only making comments about him to stay relevant, saying she was being malicious for attention.
The Real Housewives of Orange County is expected to return this summer on Bravo.
