There are many instances of Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan not seeing eye to eye which have only fueled the hatred between the two.
Pippen has revealed one of the more tender examples that goes beyond some of the more trivial issues that the two former teammates have with each other.
They were regarded as one of the greatest NBA duos in history during their playing days, but they later became sworn enemies with the pair taking various shots against one another, such as Pippen claiming the ‘Last Dance’ documentary was so centred on Jordan because of Michael’s editorial control.
Pippen released a book last year and it revealed that the death of Jordan’s father, and Pippen’s failure to reach out, was one of the major factors in their feud.
“The two were inseparable,” Pippen wrote.
“When I heard the news, I should have reached out to Michael right away. Having lost my own dad three years before, I might have been able to offer Michael some comfort. To this day, he and I haven’t spoken about his father’s death.”
How Michael Jordan reacted
Stephen A. Smith has since said the following on that situation.
“And when it comes to Scottie Pippen, Michael Jordan feels betrayed when Scottie revealed in his book his feelings for Michael Jordan and how he didn’t even give his condolences in person to Michael Jordan,” Smith said.
