Tom Sandoval has been roasted by fans on Friday over his ’embarrassing’ recreation of Christina Aguilera’s iconic 2002 Rolling Stone cover.
The Vanderpump Rules star, 40, whose ex Ariana Madix recently moved out of their shared home, was shirtless as he posed for Anima Reloaded wearing a pair of black leather pants and holding a guitar as he lay on red satin sheets.
For Xtina’s legendary issue, the Genie in a Bottle singer was totally nude as she lay against red sheets and held a blue guitar.
The Vanderpump Rules star sported a smoky eye and the beginnings of mustache and goatee.
‘MOST ICONIC XTINA ERA?#VOTE’ was posted by the cover model and designer Michael Ngo.
‘ANIMA RELOADED: COLLECTION CAMPAIGN // @tomsandoval1 as STRIPPED x FIGHTER :: 2000’s POP CULTURE REIMAGINED,’ the designer posted next to the pictures.
‘Thank you Tom for always being a great friend & supporter and for being our rockstar in this creative campaign!’ Ngo wrote.
A series of other shots show the Tom Sandoval and The Most Extras frontman shirtless and posing in leather pants and a matching jacket with silver appliques and rivets.
He wore a silver necklace that resembled a dog chain and black gloves.
Commenters on social media lost no time in making their opinions known.
‘He’s in a cover band and now he’s recreating a famous photo. This man has no original thought of his own. How embarrassing,’ wrote one person.
‘This is so embarrassing for every party involved,’ said another.
‘Looking like a Temu version of Adam Lambert….’ quipped one commenter.
Among all the detractors there were a few supporters.
‘I love this for Sandoval!! After all those demons chastised him and Raquel!! He is still got it,’ stated one admirer.
‘@tomsandoval1 let’s gooooo !!!!❤ congrats !!!!!’ exclaimed a fan.
